Job Overview:
We seek a skilled and motivated Hardware and Networking Engineer (L1) to join our IT team. The ideal candidate will provide first-level support for hardware and network-related issues within the organization. This role will involve troubleshooting, configuring, and maintaining computer systems, servers, and networks to ensure seamless operation.
Key Responsibilities:
•
Troubleshoot and resolve hardware and network-related issues (desktops, laptops, printers, routers, switches, etc.).
•
Install, configure, and maintain hardware components, software applications, and operating systems.
•
Assist in network setup and monitoring, ensuring all equipment such as routers, switches, and firewalls are functioning correctly.
•
Provide basic IT support for users in resolving system errors, connectivity issues, and peripheral malfunctions.
•
Manage and monitor servers, storage systems, and backup operations.
•
Document all activities, including troubleshooting steps and solutions, in the daily log.
•
Work closely with the Senior team for escalation of complex issues.
•
Assist in network security by ensuring antivirus software, firewalls, and updates are up to date.
•
Maintain hardware inventory and coordinate repairs or replacements as needed.
Skills and Qualifications:
•
Diploma or degree in IT, or a related field.
•
Minimum 1-2 years of experience in hardware and networking support.
•
Strong knowledge of PC hardware, Windows operating systems, and basic networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP).
•
Experience in configuring and troubleshooting routers, switches, and other networking devices.
•
Basic understanding of LAN/WAN technologies, and network security practices.
•
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
•
Good communication skills with the ability to explain technical issues to non-technical users.
Preferred Qualifications:
•
Certification in CCNA, CompTIA A+, or similar will be an advantage.
