About the Role: We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Freight Broker (Fresher) to join our growing logistics team in Mohali. This is an excellent opportunity for recent graduates and entry-level professionals who are eager to build a successful career in the logistics and freight brokerage industry.
As a Freight Broker, you will work closely with shippers and carriers to coordinate the transportation of goods, ensure smooth freight operations, and develop valuable industry knowledge through hands-on training and mentorship.
Key Responsibilities
- Learn and understand freight brokerage operations, including load booking, carrier sourcing, and shipment tracking.
- Assist in identifying, evaluating, and onboarding reliable carriers and shippers.
- Support negotiations of freight rates and service terms under guidance from senior team members.
- Maintain accurate records of shipments, loads, and carrier agreements.
- Coordinate pickup and delivery schedules with carriers and customers.
- Monitor shipments and proactively resolve delays, route changes, or delivery issues.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with carriers and clients.
- Utilize Transportation Management Systems (TMS) and related software to manage freight operations.
- Provide exceptional customer service by keeping all stakeholders informed about shipment status.
- Follow company policies and industry regulations related to freight brokerage and transportation.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field (preferred but not mandatory).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Basic understanding of logistics, transportation, or supply chain concepts (training will be provided).
- Good negotiation and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn in a fast-paced environment.
