Job Description: Gynecology (Gynic) Registrar

Job Summary
The Gynecology Registrar is responsible for providing high-quality inpatient and outpatient care to women with obstetric and gynecological conditions. The role involves assisting consultants in patient management, performing clinical procedures, attending emergency cases, maintaining accurate medical records, and ensuring adherence to hospital protocols and patient safety standards.
Key ResponsibilitiesClinical Responsibilities
- Assess, diagnose, and manage obstetric and gynecological patients under consultant supervision.
- Conduct daily ward rounds and monitor admitted patients.
- Attend OPD consultations and provide appropriate treatment plans.
- Manage labor room patients, including normal deliveries and emergency obstetric care.
- Assist in gynecological surgeries, cesarean sections, laparoscopic procedures, and other operative cases.
- Respond promptly to obstetric and gynecological emergencies.
- Perform minor procedures such as cervical biopsies, Pap smears, D&C, suturing, and insertion/removal of IUCDs as per competency.
- Ensure timely referral to consultants for complex cases.
Patient Care
- Maintain accurate and complete medical records.
- Counsel patients and families regarding diagnosis, treatment options, antenatal care, family planning, and postnatal care.
- Ensure patient confidentiality and informed consent.
Coordination
- Coordinate with anesthetists, pediatricians, nursing staff, laboratory, radiology, and other departments for comprehensive patient care.
- Participate in multidisciplinary meetings and case discussions.
Documentation & Compliance
- Complete discharge summaries, progress notes, operative notes, and clinical documentation accurately.
- Follow NABH, infection control, biomedical waste management, and patient safety protocols.
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies and ethical standards.
Academic & Professional Development
- Participate in CMEs, departmental meetings, audits, and clinical teaching sessions.
- Stay updated with current obstetrics and gynecology guidelines and evidence-based practices.
Qualifications
- MBBS with MS/DNB in Obstetrics & Gynecology (or DGO where applicable).
- Valid State Medical Council registration.
- Certification in BLS/ACLS (preferred).
Experience
- 1–5 years of experience as a Registrar in Obstetrics & Gynecology in a multispecialty or women & children hospital.
- Fresh postgraduates may also be considered based on clinical competency.

Preferred Candidate Profile
- Experience in a NABH-accredited Women & Children Hospital.
- Good exposure to high-risk obstetrics, labor room management, gynecological surgeries, and emergency care.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with consultants and multidisciplinary teams.
Pay: From ₹100,000.00 per month
