About NxtQube
NxtQube is building autonomous aerial intelligence platforms that enable drones to operate without human intervention. Our platform combines autonomous drone docking stations, edge AI, cloud software, and computer vision to automate inspection, surveillance, security, inventory monitoring, mining, infrastructure monitoring, and emergency response.
We are looking for an experienced Computer Vision Engineer who has solved real-world perception problems using RGB and EO/IR (Thermal) imagery. The ideal candidate has worked on surveillance, autonomous systems, defense, robotics, or industrial monitoring applications where reliability matters more than benchmark accuracy.
Role Overview
You will lead the development of our perception stack for autonomous drone operations across day and night conditions.
Rather than simply training object detection models, you will design complete vision pipelines involving sensor calibration, image enhancement, detection, tracking, segmentation, multi-modal fusion, temporal reasoning, and event analytics.
You will mentor junior AI engineers while architecting scalable computer vision systems for deployment on edge devices and cloud infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop computer vision pipelines for RGB and EO/IR (Thermal) imagery.
- Build robust detection, segmentation and tracking algorithms for people, vehicles, animals, machinery and industrial assets.
- Improve performance under low-light, low-contrast, dust, fog and adverse environmental conditions.
- Develop perception systems using temporal information from video rather than relying only on single-frame detection.
- Design multi-modal perception pipelines combining RGB, Thermal and other available sensor data.
- Build AI solutions for surveillance, monitoring, industrial inspection and autonomous navigation.
- Work on image enhancement, stabilization, denoising and thermal preprocessing techniques.
- Optimize inference for edge deployment on NVIDIA Jetson, GPU servers and embedded systems.
- Collaborate closely with robotics, embedded, cloud and product teams.
- Lead model evaluation, dataset strategy, hard-negative mining and continuous improvement.
- Mentor junior AI engineers and establish engineering best practices.
