Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced and proactive Assembly Supervisor to lead the assembly operations of distribution boxes, switchgear enclosures, and electrical control panels. The ideal candidate will be responsible for achieving daily production targets while maintaining high standards of quality, safety, and productivity. The role involves supervising assembly technicians, coordinating with production planning, and ensuring timely delivery of finished products.
Key ResponsibilitiesProduction Planning & Execution
- Plan, allocate, and supervise daily assembly activities based on the production schedule.
- Ensure production targets are achieved within the planned timeline.
- Monitor workflow and optimize manpower utilization.
- Coordinate with stores and planning departments to ensure material availability.
Quality Control
- Ensure assembly work is carried out as per engineering drawings, specifications, and quality standards.
- Inspect wiring, drilling, riveting, mounting, labeling, and finishing of distribution boxes.
- Minimize defects, rework, and production losses.
- Coordinate with the Quality department for inspections and corrective actions.
Team Management
- Supervise and guide a team of 10–20 assemblers and helpers.
- Allocate work based on skills and production priorities.
- Train new employees on assembly procedures and safety practices.
- Monitor attendance, discipline, productivity, and overall team performance.
Safety & Compliance
- Ensure adherence to safety standards and company policies.
- Conduct daily safety checks and maintain a clean, organized work area (5S).
- Ensure proper use of tools, equipment, and personal protective equipment (PPE).
Process Improvement
- Identify opportunities to improve productivity and reduce assembly time.
- Support Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Monitor key production metrics and prepare daily production reports.
Coordination
- Coordinate with Production Planning, Quality, Maintenance, and Stores departments to ensure smooth production flow.
- Report production status, manpower issues, and machine breakdowns to management.
Required Qualifications
- Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Production Engineering, or a related field.
- 3–6 years of experience in assembly operations within electrical panel, switchgear, distribution box, sheet metal fabrication, or enclosure manufacturing.
- Prior experience in a supervisory role is preferred.
Required Skills
- Knowledge of distribution box and electrical panel assembly.
- Ability to read engineering drawings and assembly layouts.
- Understanding of electrical components, wiring, and mechanical assembly.
- Leadership and team management skills.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Knowledge of quality standards, 5S, Kaizen, and Lean Manufacturing.
- Basic computer skills (MS Excel, MS Word, ERP preferred).
Preferred Experience
- Experience in sheet metal fabrication or electrical enclosure manufacturing.
- Familiarity with production planning and dispatch coordination.
- Experience handling production documentation and reporting.
Salary
CTC: As per experience and interview performance.
