We are looking for a creative and detail-oriented Knitwear Designer with 2–3 years of experience in designing knit apparel. The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of knitwear construction, yarns, garment silhouettes, and current fashion trends. The role involves creating commercially viable collections for domestic and international markets while working closely with the merchandising, sampling, and production teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Research global and local fashion, color, fabric, and knitwear trends.
- Develop seasonal knitwear collections for womenswear categories.
- Develop designs for flat knits, circular knits, sweaters, and knit-based fusion and western wear.
- Select suitable yarns, stitches, structures, trims, and embellishments based on design and cost targets.
- Coordinate with pattern makers, sample development, merchandising, and production teams to ensure accurate execution of designs.
- Review samples, provide fit and design comments, and ensure timely approvals.
- Work on print placements, graphics, embroidery, and surface developments where applicable.
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of knitwear construction and garment development.
- Understanding of yarns, gauges, stitches, knit structures, and fabric properties.
- Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, and Microsoft Office.
- Ability to create detailed technical sketches and tech packs.
- Good understanding of fit, pattern development, and garment finishing.
- Strong aesthetic sense with awareness of current fashion trends.
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and time management skills.
Preferred qualification
- Experience working with garment manufacturers, export houses, or fashion brands.
- Knowledge of Indian apparel markets as well as western and fusion wear is an added advantage.
- Familiarity with sustainable materials and product development practices is desirable.
- Graduation/Master's degree in Knitwear Design/Fashion Design from any reputed college.
Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹40,000.00 per month
