Job Summary
We are looking for a responsible, experienced, and safety-conscious School Bus Driver to safely transport students and staff between designated pickup/drop-off points and the school campus. The driver will be responsible for maintaining safe driving practices, following the assigned route and schedule, and ensuring the bus is maintained in proper operating condition.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely transport students and staff as per the assigned route and schedule.
- Follow all traffic rules, school transport policies, and applicable government regulations.
- Ensure students board and exit the bus safely at designated stops.
- Maintain discipline and a safe environment inside the bus.
- Coordinate with the Transport In-charge / School Administration / Bus Attendant regarding route and student-related matters.
- Conduct basic daily checks of the bus before starting the trip, including:
- Brakes
- Tyres
- Lights
- Indicators
- Horn
- Wipers
- Mirrors
- Doors
- Emergency equipment
- Immediately report any mechanical issue, accident, breakdown, or safety concern to the Transport Department.
- Keep the bus clean and in good condition.
- Maintain the assigned bus logbook and required transport records.
- Follow the approved pickup/drop-off timings and routes.
- Do not allow unauthorized persons to travel in the school bus.
- Follow the school's emergency and student-safety procedures.
- Cooperate during vehicle inspections, servicing, fitness checks, and other transport-related requirements.
- Ensure that the vehicle documents and driver's documents are valid and available when required.
- Maintain professional and respectful behaviour with students, parents, teachers, and school staff.
- Maintain strict confidentiality regarding students and school-related information.
Eligibility & Qualifications
- Valid Heavy Motor Vehicle / Transport Vehicle Driving Licence as applicable.
- Valid School Bus Driver Batch Badge / required permit or authorization as applicable.
- Minimum 3–5 years of relevant driving experience, preferably in school bus or passenger transport operations.
- Good knowledge of local roads and routes.
- Basic understanding of vehicle maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Physically fit and capable of performing driving duties for extended periods.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Clean and responsible driving record preferred.

Safety & Compliance
The driver must give highest priority to student safety and strictly comply with school transport policies and applicable motor vehicle regulations. Any unsafe driving, speeding, rash driving, unauthorized route deviation, use of mobile phone while driving, or violation of school transport rules will be treated seriously.
Working Requirements
- Willingness to work according to school transport timings.
- Early morning and afternoon/evening shifts may be required.
- Availability during school events, examinations, special activities, or other transport requirements as assigned.
- Weekly off/leave will be as per the school's transport department schedule.
