Job Summary
The Fire Safety Officer is responsible for ensuring the safety of patients, visitors, employees, and hospital property by implementing fire prevention measures, maintaining firefighting equipment, conducting safety inspections, and ensuring compliance with fire safety regulations. The officer also coordinates emergency response activities and conducts regular fire safety training and mock drills. These responsibilities align with national guidance for healthcare fire safety and common hospital practice.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct regular fire safety inspections throughout the hospital.
- Inspect and maintain fire extinguishers, fire hydrants, sprinkler systems, smoke detectors, fire alarms, and emergency lighting.
- Ensure all emergency exits, fire doors, and evacuation routes remain accessible.
- Identify fire hazards and recommend corrective actions.
- Prepare and implement the Hospital Fire Safety Plan and Fire Evacuation Plan.
- Organize and conduct fire drills and emergency evacuation exercises.
- Train hospital staff on fire prevention, evacuation procedures, and the proper use of firefighting equipment.
- Coordinate with the local Fire Department during inspections and emergencies.
- Maintain records of fire safety equipment inspections, maintenance, and training.
- Ensure compliance with the National Building Code (NBC), State Fire Safety Rules, NABH standards (where applicable), and hospital fire safety policies.
Pay: ₹22,000.00 - ₹35,000.00 per month
