Position Title: NICU Staff Nurse
Department: Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU)
Reporting To: NICU In-Charge / Nursing Superintendent
Job Summary:
The NICU Staff Nurse is responsible for providing specialized nursing care to newborn infants admitted to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. The nurse ensures continuous monitoring, medication administration, infection control, and compassionate care to neonates while supporting parents and coordinating with doctors and healthcare staff.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide direct nursing care to critically ill and premature newborn babies.
* Monitor vital signs, oxygen saturation, temperature, and overall condition of neonates.
* Administer medications, injections, IV fluids, and feedings as prescribed by doctors.
* Assist doctors during medical procedures and emergencies.
* Maintain accurate nursing records and patient documentation.
* Operate and monitor NICU equipment such as ventilators, CPAP, incubators, infusion pumps, and monitors.
* Follow infection control protocols and maintain cleanliness in the NICU.
* Educate and counsel parents regarding baby care, breastfeeding, and hygiene.
* Ensure proper handover during shift changes.
* Coordinate with pediatricians, consultants, and other healthcare staff for patient care.
* Maintain patient safety and confidentiality at all times.
* Participate in training programs, audits, and quality improvement activities.
Required Qualification
* GNM / B.Sc. Nursing from a recognized institution.
* Valid Nursing Registration Certificate.
* NICU experience preferred.
Required Skills
* Good clinical and patient care skills.
* Knowledge of neonatal emergency management.
* Ability to handle critical care equipment.

Working Conditions
* Rotational shifts including night duties.
* Emergency and critical care environment.

Experience
* Fresher or experienced candidates can apply.
* Minimum 1–2 years of NICU experience preferred.
Pay: ₹8,086.00 - ₹44,723.03 per month
