To manage and monitor day-to-day machining and production activities, ensuring that production targets are achieved with optimum productivity, quality and machine utilization. The candidate should have strong practical knowledge of CNC machines, CNC programming, shop-floor operations, boring machines, tooling and CAT/CAM software.
The ideal candidate should be a hands-on Production Engineer with strong CNC machining and shop-floor experience. The candidate must be confident in CNC programming, machine setting, boring operations, tooling selection and CAT/CAM, with the ability to troubleshoot machining problems and improve productivity, quality and cycle time.
Core requirement: Strong practical knowledge of CNC Machine + CNC Programming + Shop Floor + Boring Machine + Tooling + CAT/CAM.
Required Technical KnowledgeCNC Machine Knowledge
- Strong practical knowledge of CNC turning/machining centres.
- CNC machine setting and job setup.
- Work offsets and tool offsets.
- Machine zero/reference setting.
- Basic troubleshooting of CNC machining problems.
- Understanding of machine capabilities and limitations.
CNC Programming
- Good knowledge of G-code and M-code.
- Ability to create, edit and troubleshoot CNC programs.
- Knowledge of canned cycles and machining cycles.
- Program optimization for cycle-time and productivity improvement.
- Understanding of coordinate systems, tool compensation and offsets.
Boring Machine Knowledge
- Practical knowledge of boring machine operations.
- Job setting, alignment and centering.
- Selection of boring tools and inserts.
- Knowledge of boring parameters and dimensional control.
- Troubleshooting of vibration, chatter, tool wear and surface-finish issues.
Tooling Knowledge
- Strong knowledge of cutting tools, inserts, holders and tooling systems.
- Selection of tools according to material and machining operation.
- Knowledge of cutting speed, feed rate and depth of cut.
- Tool-life monitoring and optimization.
- Knowledge of tool wear, breakage and machining defects.
CAT/CAM Knowledge
- Working knowledge of CATIA/CAM or equivalent CAD/CAM software.
- Ability to understand 2D drawings and 3D models.
- Tool-path generation and machining simulation.
- Ability to modify and optimize CAM-generated CNC programs.
- Knowledge of post-processing and transferring programs to CNC machines.
Qualifications
- Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering or equivalent.
- Experience: 2–6 years in CNC machining/manufacturing preferred.
- Candidates with strong hands-on CNC shop-floor experience will be preferred.
Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹40,000.00 per month
