Summary:
The Smart Plant Foundation / SDx Build Lead is responsible for leading the build, configuration, and technical implementation of the Hexagon SDx application in alignment with approved Functional Design Specifications (FDS). The role ensures successful system integration of SDx with engineering authoring tools, stable environments across development and test phases, and high-quality data delivery to support project execution and operational readiness.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Lead SDx build and configuration activities across environments (Dev/Test/Prod) strictly in line with approved Functional Design Specifications (FDS).
- Own and coordinate system integration of the SDx application with SmartPlant Foundation (SPF) and engineering authoring tools.
- Configure and support publish/retrieve and SDV based integrations between SDx/SPF and tools such as SPPID, SPI, SPEL, and SP3D.
- Perform and govern schema modelling and configuration in SDx, including authoring, published, graph, view, and integration schemas.
- Lead data loading, validation, and reconciliation activities, ensuring completeness, consistency, and correctness of engineering data and documents.
- Monitor publish queues, identify schema or mapping errors, and drive timely resolution.
- Configure SDx admin components, workflows, document lifecycle management, and role based access.
- Support system integration testing (SIT) activities by providing build support, defect analysis, and resolution.
- Coordinate with functional SMEs, EPC teams, IT, and client stakeholders to ensure build readiness and integration stability.
- Ensure SDx build supports Operations & Maintenance (O&M) data readiness and downstream asset handover.
Professional & Technical Skills:
- Strong hands-on experience with Hexagon Smart Plant Foundation (SPF) and Hexagon SDx build and configuration.
- Proven experience leading SDx build activities as per FDS.
- Experience in schema-oriented configuration methodology.
- Expertise in system integration of Smart Plant Foundation (SPF) with:
- Smart Plant P&ID (SPPID)
- Smart Plant Instrumentation (SPI)
- Smart Plant Electrical (SPEL)
- Smart 3D (SP3D)
- Solid knowledge of schema modelling and mapping, including class, interface, property, relationship, and view definitions.
- Experience with publish/retrieve mappings and SDV configurations.
- Strong understanding of engineering data structures, tag management, classification, and parametric attributes.
- Experience in document management and document control using SPF/SDx.
- Proficiency in SQL / MS SQL / Oracle databases for data validation and troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with Excel publish schemas, templates, and bulk data loading.
- Exposure to SDx - SAP PM integration, SDx APIs, and enterprise system interoperability.
- Working knowledge of cloud environments, version upgrades, and DevOps practices.
Ability to lead technical build teams and coordinate with cross functional stakeholders.
- Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills for build and integration issues.
- Good understanding of information management and engineering workflows.
- Ability to translate functional designs into robust, scalable technical configurations.
- Strong delivery focus with the ability to manage multiple build priorities.
- Experience working in EPC and owner operator project environments.

- The candidate should have minimum 8 - 12 years of experience in SPF/SDx implementation and configuration
- This position is based at our Hyderabad office.
