Job Summary
The Barcoding and Billing Staff is responsible for generating barcode labels for diamonds and jewelry, maintaining accurate product information, preparing invoices for B2B customers, updating inventory records, and ensuring smooth coordination between production, inventory, dispatch, and accounts departments.
Key Responsibilities Barcoding
- Generate and print barcode labels for loose diamonds and finished jewelry.
- Assign unique identification numbers (SKU/barcode) to each item.
- Verify product details such as:
- Diamond specifications (carat, cut, color, clarity)
- Shape and size
- Jewelry type and metal details
- Lot number or batch number
- Attach barcode labels and ensure they are readable and accurate.
- Update barcode information in the ERP or inventory management system.
Billing
- Prepare B2B invoices based on confirmed sales orders or purchase orders.
- Verify product details, pricing, discounts, taxes, and shipping information before billing.
- Generate tax invoices, delivery challans, packing lists, and export documentation (if applicable).
- Process customer returns, replacements, or credit notes when required.
- Coordinate with the accounts department regarding payments and outstanding invoices.
Required Skills
- Knowledge of barcode printers and scanners.
- Experience with ERP software used in the diamond or jewelry industry.
- Basic understanding of diamond grading (4Cs: Carat, Cut, Color, Clarity).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and billing software.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or diploma in Commerce, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 1–2 years of experience in billing, inventory, or barcoding, preferably in the diamond or jewelry industry.
- Knowledge of diamond inventory systems and manufacturing workflows is an advantage.
Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹20,000.00 per month
