Primary Duties & Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and implement high-level software drivers in C/C++, C#, VB.NET for 3rd party instruments, as well as for other in-house designed test boards and devices.
- Collaborate with hardware designers to integrate new devices into the existing software architecture
- Collaborate with test engineering teams to debug and resolve production issues with software/testing
- Work with the team on release and qualification process for new production softwares
- Read and interpret complex electrical schematics to support the development and debugging of hardware and software integrations.
- Operate hands-on in the lab with digital multimeters (DMMs), oscilloscopes, and logic analyzers to test and validate designs.
- Writing new test cases to validation and testing of new products
- Analysis of test and validation data to highlight failure patterns and resolve them using software test methods
- Writing unit tests and documentation for test software
- Aligning with internal test infrastructure and ensuring code quality in the team
- Participating in regular code reviews
Education & Experience
- Minimum 5 yr. experience in software development in C/C++/VB/.NET.
- BTech/MTech in an engineering stream or equivalent degree.
Skills
- Strong interpersonal, teaming, and problem-solving skills.
- Work effectively with other members of Coherent Corp.
- Excellent coding skills in any OOPs language
Working Conditions
- May require collaborating and coordinating with counterparts from different geographic regions and time zones.
- The work mode of Finisar India is 5 days in office.
