INSAFE is looking for an Estimation & CAD Assistant to support our Estimation Engineer in preparing BOQs, quantity take-offs, basic drawings, and estimation-related documentation for steel construction projects.
The selected candidate will work from a dedicated workspace arranged by the company and will coordinate closely with our Estimation Engineer and technical team.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Estimation Engineer in preparing BOQs and material quantity take-offs
- Review architectural and structural drawings to extract quantities and dimensions
- Assist in estimating quantities for steel structures, warehouses, mezzanine floors, platforms, structural strengthening and related works
- Prepare and modify basic AutoCAD drawings
- Assist with preparation of material lists and estimation sheets
- Take quantities from drawings and prepare accurate Excel sheets
- Review drawings and identify missing or unclear information
- Maintain and organize estimation documents, drawings and revisions
- Assist the Estimation Team in preparing quotations and technical submissions
- Coordinate with the technical team regarding drawing and quantity requirements
Requirements
- Diploma / Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related field
- Basic to good knowledge of AutoCAD
- Understanding of structural and architectural drawings
- Knowledge of BOQ preparation and quantity take-off
- Good working knowledge of MS Excel
- Basic understanding of steel structures and fabrication
- Good attention to detail and ability to work with dimensions and quantities
- Good communication and coordination skills
Preferred Skills
- Previous experience in steel fabrication, structural steel or construction estimation
- Basic understanding of Tekla Structures is a plus
- Knowledge of Revit or BIM is an advantage
- Experience preparing BOQs/MTOs for steel structures is preferred
Who We Are Looking For
We are looking for someone who is detail-oriented, willing to learn, technically inclined, and comfortable working with drawings, quantities and Excel.
Fresh graduates with relevant technical knowledge and good AutoCAD skills will also be considered.
Work Arrangement
This is a full-time remote position with work from a workspace allocated/provided by the company. The candidate will work closely with INSAFE's Estimation Engineer during working hours through online communication and coordination.
