Job Summary
The General Manager (GM) is responsible for overall business operations, ensuring smooth functioning of all departments, achieving company targets, improving profitability, and maintaining high standards of service, compliance, and employee performance.
Key Roles & Responsibilities
1) Business & Operations Management
- Oversee daily operations and ensure all departments function effectively
- Monitor productivity, service standards, and operational efficiency
- Ensure proper coordination between departments (HR, Accounts, Sales, Purchase, Production, etc.)
- Implement SOPs and improve work processes
2) Financial & Budget Control
- Prepare and manage annual budgets and monthly cost control
- Monitor revenue, expenses, and profitability
- Approve major purchases and control operational wastage
- Review MIS reports and take corrective actions
3) Team Leadership & People Management
- Lead, guide, and motivate department heads and employees
- Ensure manpower planning, recruitment support, and training requirements
- Conduct performance reviews and ensure discipline & productivity
- Maintain a positive work culture and employee engagement
4) Sales & Business Development
- Support sales team in achieving targets and growth plans
- Develop strategies to increase customer base and improve market presence
- Monitor customer satisfaction and handle major client escalations
5) Compliance & Risk Management
- Ensure compliance with company policies and statutory requirements
- Maintain safety standards, audit readiness, and legal compliance
- Handle operational risks, customer complaints, and crisis situations
6) Reporting & Coordination
- Submit weekly/monthly reports to management
- Attend management meetings and provide operational updates
- Plan and execute improvement projects and expansion activities
