JOB DESCRIPTIONHSE / SAFETY ENGINEERJob Purpose
To ensure effective implementation of Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) standards at project sites during the execution of interior fit-out and MEP activities, preventing accidents, ensuring compliance with statutory and client requirements, and promoting a strong safety culture.
Key Roles & Responsibilities
- Prepare and implement Project Safety Plans, HIRA (Hazard Identification & Risk Assessment), and Method Statements for all project activities.
- Ensure compliance with applicable local statutory requirements, HSE regulations, and client safety standards.
- Develop and implement Job Safety Analysis (JSA) for critical and high-risk activities.
- Identify site hazards related to work at height, electrical activities, lifting operations, hot work, confined spaces, and other construction activities, and implement appropriate control measures.
- Monitor safety compliance across multiple site activities and ensure proper PPE usage by all employees, subcontractors, and workers.
- Ensure high standards of housekeeping, access/egress, barricading, signage, and safe work practices are maintained at all times.
- Report and investigate accidents, incidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions, including conducting Root Cause Analysis (RCA).
- Recommend and monitor Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA) for incidents and accidents and maintain proper records.
- Prepare and maintain daily, weekly, and monthly HSE reports, including:
- Permit to Work (PTW) records
- Training and toolbox talk records
- Safety inspection checklists
- Incident/accident reports
- Safety statistics
- Site observation reports
- Conduct regular site safety inspections, toolbox talks, safety inductions, and awareness programs.
- Coordinate with the Project Team, Client, Consultants, and Subcontractors to ensure compliance with mandatory site safety requirements.
- Monitor subcontractor safety performance and ensure timely closure of identified safety observations and non-conformities.
- Support emergency preparedness activities, mock drills, and implementation of emergency response procedures.
- Promote a proactive safety-first culture across the project site.

Total Experience4–5 Years
Relevant ExperienceExperience in MEP, Interior Fit-Out, Industrial, or Construction Projects
Professional CertificationsNEBOSH and/or IOSH certification preferred
Technical SkillsHIRA, JSA, PTW, Risk Assessment, Incident Investigation, RCA, CAPA, Safety Audits and Inspections
Software KnowledgeMS Office – Word, Excel, PowerPoint

Preferred Candidate Profile
Candidates with strong hands-on experience in MEP, interior fit-out, industrial construction, or manufacturing projects will be preferred. The candidate should be capable of independently managing day-to-day site HSE activities and coordinating effectively with clients, project teams, contractors, and subcontractors.
