Harbinger Systems is looking for a Senior Cloud Operations Engineer to take ownership of the reliability, performance, and cost-efficiency of our Microsoft Azure infrastructure. This role sits at the critical intersection of CloudOps, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), and FinOps. You will be responsible for driving automated deployments, end-to-end monitoring, and continuous cloud spend optimization.
You will work as a key partner to our application development, security, and finance teams to ensure operational excellence is integrated into every workload from the start.
Key Responsibilities
- Cloud Deployments & IaC: Design and manage Azure resources using Terraform, Bicep, or ARM templates. You will own CI/CD integrations via Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions and manage Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) lifecycles.
- Monitoring & Observability: Build comprehensive observability using Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and Application Insights. You will define SLI/SLO/SLA targets, author KQL queries, and manage incident routing via tools like PagerDuty or OpsGenie.
- FinOps & Cost Optimization: Analyze billing data to identify over-provisioned resources. Your goal is to drive a 20–30% month-on-month cost reduction through rightsizing, reserved instances, and automation without sacrificing service reliability.
- Governance & Security: Implement Azure Landing Zones and enforce RBAC and Azure Policy guardrails to maintain a high security and compliance posture.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Experience: 4–6 years in cloud/infrastructure engineering, with at least 3 years specifically hands-on with Microsoft Azure.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
- Core Technical Skills:
- Infrastructure as Code: Production-grade Terraform (preferred), Bicep, or ARM.
- Containers: Docker, Kubernetes (AKS), and Helm charts.
- Networking: VNet peering, Azure Firewall, Front Door, and Private Endpoints.
- Scripting: Proficiency in PowerShell, Bash, or Python.
- Proven Track Record: Experience managing production environments at scale (500+ VMs or equivalent) and leading on-call SRE rotations.
Pay: ₹302,855.33 - ₹485,935.20 per year
