Common Responsibilities (Both Departments)
- Provide psycho social assessment and counseling to patients and their families
- Assist patients in understanding treatment plans, hospital processes, and follow-ups
- Coordinate with doctors, nurses, and administrative staff for patient support services
- Maintain patient records, case histories, and departmental reports
- Facilitate referrals to government schemes, NGOs, and welfare programs
- Support patients in financial counseling and insurance / scheme linkage, if required
- Participate in health education, awareness programs, and patient counseling sessions
- Ensure confidentiality and ethical standards in patient interactions
Department-Specific Responsibilities
Community Medicine
- Assist in planning and implementation of community health programs and outreach camps
- Conduct field visits, surveys, and community needs assessments
- Support national health programs (maternal & child health, immunization, NCD programs, etc.)
- Coordinate with ASHA workers, Anganwadi workers, NGOs, and local authorities
- Prepare reports, data documentation, and feedback for academic and departmental use
Cardiology
- Provide counseling to cardiac patients and families regarding disease, lifestyle changes, and rehabilitation
- Assist in pre- and post-procedure counseling (angiography, angioplasty, surgery, etc.)
- Support cardiac rehabilitation programs and patient follow-up coordination
- Help patients navigate treatment costs, financial aid, and support services
- Address emotional and psychological concerns related to cardiac illnesses
Skills & Competencies
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills

- Knowledge of hospital systems and healthcare ethics
- Ability to work in multidisciplinary teams
- Basic computer skills (MS Word, Excel, hospital software)
- Willingness to work in hospital and community settings
