Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and responsible GDA-certified Care Attendant to provide personal and basic nursing care support to our elderly residents. The role involves assisting with daily activities, maintaining hygiene, administering basic medications, and ensuring the physical and emotional well-being of residents.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Support with diaper changing, bed making, and maintaining hygiene of residents and their surroundings.
- Assist with mobility and positioning, including transfers from bed to chair or wheelchair.
- Provide feeding assistance and ensure proper nutrition and hydration.
- Administer oral medications as per nursing instructions and maintain proper documentation.
- Perform oil massage and provide comfort care as advised by nursing staff.
- Monitor and report any changes in residents’ health, behavior, or appetite to the nursing team.
- Offer emotional support and companionship with patience and empathy.
- Maintain cleanliness and infection control standards at all times.
- Assist in monitoring vital signs (temperature, pulse, respiration) if trained.
- Coordinate with nursing and housekeeping teams to ensure a safe and caring environment.
Requirements
- General Duty Assistant (GDA) Certification from a recognized institute.
- Minimum 1–2 years of experience in elder care, hospital, or home care settings (preferred).
- Basic knowledge of elderly hygiene, medication support, and patient handling techniques.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Physically fit, patient, and compassionate towards the elderly.
- Willingness to work rotational shifts (day/night).
Working Hours
- 12-hour shifts
- 8:00 AM – 8:00 PM
- 8:00 PM – 8:00 AM
- Rotational weekly off
