Position: Project & Operations Manager – Factory and Site
Location: Mumbai, with regular factory and site visits
Industry: Signage / Digital LED / Fabrication / Project Execution
Role objective
To independently manage day-to-day coordination between client, factory, and site so that projects are executed on time, within budget, and at the required quality standard. The person should reduce dependency on the owner for routine coordination, problem solving, and follow-up.
Key responsibilities
Project coordination
- Coordinate with clients, internal team, factory staff, and site teams
- Track project progress from start to completion
- Ensure timely follow-up on approvals, drawings, materials, production, dispatch, and installation
- Visit factory and site regularly to monitor execution
Factory coordination
- Check production requirements, manpower availability, and work progress
- Coordinate with supervisors and workers to ensure deadlines are met
- Identify bottlenecks in production and resolve them proactively
- Monitor quality and rework levels
Site coordination
- Visit sites regularly to check installation progress and site readiness
- Resolve site-related issues with client, contractor, and internal team
- Ensure installation is completed as per schedule and company quality standards
Material and resource planning
- Review project requirements for manpower, machinery, tools, and raw material
- Ensure required inputs are available in advance
- Flag shortages, delays, and possible risks before they become problems
Reporting and control
- Maintain daily/weekly project updates
- Prepare proper reports on progress, delays, manpower, stock movement, and pending items
- Track wastage, leakage, and repeated issues
- Support basic billing, documentation, and commercial reporting
Problem solving
- Guide the team in technical, production, and site-related issues
- Find practical solutions instead of giving excuses
- Escalate only critical matters to management
Required skills
- Strong communication in English and Hindi
- Comfortable with factory and site travel
- Ability to read and understand drawings, layouts, and project requirements
- Strong reporting discipline
- Good working knowledge of Excel and documents
- Basic understanding of cost control, stock, and accounting flow
Preferred background
- Engineering background preferred, especially:
- Mechanical
- Civil
- Production / Industrial
- Experience in signage, fabrication, interiors, LED, project execution, or similar work
- Accounting/commercial experience is an added advantage
