Experience: 5-7 years overall experience with at least 3–4 years in SAP PP/PPDS
Location: Pune / Chennai
Position Overview: The Junior Architect – SAP PPDS will support solution design, configuration, and delivery for Production Planning and Detailed Scheduling processes in S/4HANA or APO environments. The role requires strong business process understanding, good hands-on experience, and the ability to translate requirements into scalable design with guidance from senior architects.
Key Accountabilities:
Solution Design & Architecture:

Support the design of PPDS architecture, including CIF integration, heuristics, pegging, and planning run strategies

Assist in preparing detailed functional designs, technical specifications, and integration touchpoints
-
Contribute to blueprinting workshops and documentation
Configuration & Build:
-
Perform configuration for PPDS: resources, PDS, planning areas, planning profiles, strategy profiles, heuristics, and scheduling

Work on master data setup: PPM/PDS, work centers, BOMs, routings, production versions, and resource capacities

Execute CIF setup, monitoring, and issue resolution
Implementation & Testing:

Participate in end-to-end implementation activities including FIT-GAP analysis, UAT support, and cutover preparation

Build test scripts, support system testing, and ensure solution quality

Support creation of training materials and conduct end-user training sessions when required
Integration & Cross-Functional Support:

Work closely with PP, MM, QM, SD, and APO teams to ensure end-to-end solution alignment

Coordinate with technical teams (ABAP, Basis, PI/PO) for enhancements and interfaces
Operations & Continuous Improvement:

Support production issues, root-cause analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives

Assist senior architects in identifying optimization opportunities, scheduling strategies, and planning KPIs
Required Skills & Qualifications:

3–4 years of hands-on SAP PP/PPDS configuration experience

Strong understanding of PPDS master data (resources, PDS/PPM, product masters, calendars)

Knowledge of heuristics, optimizer concepts, planning run (SNP/PPDS), pegging, block planning, planning with quota arrangement, Product Planning Table setup and Colour planning board config

Good experience in CIF integration and troubleshooting

Exposure to S/4HANA PPDS preferred

Ability to document business processes and functional specs clearly

Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
Good to Have:

Experience in at least one end-to-end S/4HANA PPDS implementation

Knowledge of ePPDS planning board, DS board, alerts monitor, and planning cockpit

Familiarity with SAP IBP concepts (Demand/Supply) is an advantage

Understanding of MES integrations or shop-floor processes
