About the Role We are looking for a Senior AWS Data Engineer to bridge the gap between high-level data architecture and hands-on engineering, designing modern data lakes, warehouses, and streaming platforms on AWS. The role requires building pipelines and architecting scalable, robust, and cost-efficient data ecosystems. The ideal candidate will have experience in data engineering, data architecture, and system design.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement scalable, secure, and highly available cloud data architectures on AWS.
- Design, build, and optimize robust ETL/ELT pipelines to ingest, process, and transform massive datasets.
- Create and maintain conceptual, logical, and physical data models for high-performance analytics, reporting, and AI/ML use cases.
- Optimize complex SQL queries, Spark jobs, and storage formats to ensure maximum efficiency and minimal AWS costs.
- Implement strict data governance, data quality framework checking, IAM policies, and encryption protocols to ensure data compliance and security.
- Act as the technical authority for data architecture within the team, mentoring junior engineers and collaborating closely with Data Scientists, DevOps, and Product owners.
Requirements
- Have 6+ years of dedicated experience in Data Engineering, with at least 2+ years focused on data architecture and system design.
- Possess deep hands-on expertise with AWS data services, including Compute/Processing, Storage/Warehouse, and Streaming.
- Have proficiency in Python or Scala, and extensive experience with Apache Spark.
- Demonstrate master-level SQL skills and a deep understanding of data warehousing concepts.
- Have hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, or AWS CDK.
- Have experience with workflow orchestration tools like Apache Airflow and standard Git-based CI/CD pipelines.
