We are seeking an experienced and dynamic National Legal Head to lead our legal department across the nation. This pivotal role involves overseeing all legal operations, ensuring compliance with national laws, and providing strategic legal counsel to the executive team. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in corporate law, litigation management, and regulatory affairs, with a proven track record of leading high-performing legal teams. The National Legal Head will be instrumental in safeguarding the company's interests, mitigating legal risks, and fostering a culture of legal integrity and ethical conduct throughout the organization.
- Develop and implement comprehensive legal strategies and policies that align with the company's business objectives and risk appetite.
- Oversee and manage all aspects of litigation, arbitration, and other legal disputes, working closely with internal teams and external counsel to achieve favorable outcomes.
- Ensure the company's full compliance with all applicable national and international laws, regulations, and industry standards, including data privacy, consumer protection, and employment laws.
- Provide expert legal advice and guidance to the Board of Directors, CEO, and other senior management on a wide range of legal and regulatory issues, including corporate governance, mergers & acquisitions, and new business initiatives.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a PAN India team of legal professionals across various regions, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
- Manage and negotiate complex contracts, agreements, and partnerships, ensuring legal soundness and protection of the company's interests.
- Manage relationships with external legal counsel, optimizing legal spend and ensuring high-quality, cost-effective legal services.
- Stay abreast of legislative changes, regulatory developments, and emerging legal trends that could impact the company's operations, and proactively advise on necessary adjustments.
- Develop and deliver legal training programs for employees to enhance legal awareness and compliance across the organization.
- Responsibility for verification and vetting legal documents
- Legal opinion on mortgage legal – based on internal and / or external vendor report
- Should have a fair understanding of the legal process and norms across the country
- Should be aware and adept with various Government portals for title search; pan India
- Will be responsible for legal approval and deviations
- Management of team, vendors and all stakeholders
- Legal policies and process – formulation and changes - ensuring optimization of business enablement
- Adherence to timelines and various TAT
- Support litigations, business collections, audit processes

LLB with 15+ years of mortgage industry experience
