The Middle Grade English Teacher is responsible for teaching English Language and Literature to students in Grades 6–8, fostering strong reading, writing, speaking, and critical thinking skills. The teacher will create engaging lesson plans, assess student progress, and contribute to the overall academic and personal development of students.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan and deliver effective English lessons aligned with the curriculum.
Teach grammar, vocabulary, reading comprehension, writing, and literature.
Encourage students to develop communication and critical-thinking skills.
Assess and evaluate student performance through assignments, projects, and examinations.
Maintain accurate records of attendance, grades, and progress reports.
Create a positive, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment.
Communicate regularly with parents regarding student progress and concerns.
Participate in staff meetings, professional development programs, and school events.
Support and supervise co-curricular activities such as debates, elocution, and literary clubs.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's or Master's Degree in English, Literature, or Education.
B.Ed. preferred.
Strong command of spoken and written English.
Minimum 4 plus years of teaching experience in middle grades preferred.
