In-Process Quality Engineer – Spinning Process

Qualification
- Diploma / B.E. in Mechanical Engineering
Experience
- 2–6 Years
- Experience in Sheet Metal / Automotive Component Manufacturing
- Hands-on experience in Metal Spinning Process is mandatory.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform in-process inspection of spun sheet metal components as per Control Plan and Inspection Standards.
- Ensure product quality during the spinning process and prevent defects at the source.
- Conduct First-Off, Patrol and Final In-Process inspections.
- Verify dimensions using Vernier Caliper, Height Gauge, Bore Gauge, Micrometer, Dial Gauge and other measuring instruments.
- Monitor critical dimensions, profile, thickness, runout and visual quality of spun components.
- Ensure process compliance with Control Plan, SOPs and Work Instructions.
- Identify process abnormalities and immediately communicate to Production for corrective action.
- Perform root cause analysis using 5 Why, Fishbone Diagram and support implementation of corrective actions.
- Raise internal quality concerns (NC Reports) and verify effectiveness of corrective actions.
- Ensure traceability, identification and segregation of non-conforming material.
- Support new product trials, PPAP activities and process validation.
- Maintain inspection reports, quality records and daily rejection reports.
- Coordinate with Production, Maintenance and Tool Room to improve process capability.
- Participate in continuous improvement activities to reduce rejection and rework.
- Ensure compliance with IATF 16949 quality requirements and customer-specific requirements.
