Civil Engineer – Business Development Job Profile
Position: Civil Engineer – Business DevelopmentJob Summary: Responsible for identifying new business opportunities, generating leads, developing client relationships, preparing technical and commercial proposals, and securing civil engineering and construction projects. The role combines engineering knowledge with business development and client management.
Key Responsibilities
· Identify and develop new business opportunities in construction, infrastructure, interior, and civil engineering sectors.
· Meet architects, builders, developers, consultants, government departments, and corporate clients.
· Generate leads through networking, cold calling, email campaigns, and site visits.
· Understand client requirements and coordinate with technical teams to prepare proposals and quotations.
· Prepare project cost estimates, BOQs, and tender documents.
· Participate in pre-bid meetings and tender submissions.
· Negotiate contracts and close business deals.
· Maintain long-term client relationships and ensure customer satisfaction.
· Conduct market research and monitor competitors.
· Achieve monthly and annual business targets.
· Prepare weekly and monthly business development reports.
Required Skills
· Degree/Diploma in Civil Engineering.
· 2–5 years of experience in civil construction or business development (preferred).
· Knowledge of construction materials and project execution.
· Strong communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
· Ability to prepare BOQs, estimates, and technical proposals.
· Proficiency in MS Office and AutoCAD (preferred).
· Willingness to travel for client meetings and site visits.
