The Project Engineer - Automation is responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing automation systems for water treatment plants. This role involves process control design, selection of mechanical and electrical components, PLC programming, and development of SCADA systems to ensure reliable, efficient, and safe plant operations. This role is for someone who is willing to take end to end ownership.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and implement automation solutions for water and wastewater treatment processes & later on other complex processes.
- Develop, program and configure PLC based control system - HMIs, SCADA systems for plant operations.
- Develop, program and configure HMIs & SCADA systems for real-time monitoring, control, and data logging.
- Select and specify equipment such as pumps, motors, valves, flow meters, level sensors, pressure sensors, and other instrumentation.
- Prepare control logic, P&IDs review, I/O lists, and technical functional design specifications.
- Integrate field instrumentation with PLC and SCADA systems using industrial communication protocols.
- Ensure electrical integration including motor control panels, VFDs, and control wiring.
- Perform system testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting of automation and control systems.
- Analyze existing processes and identify opportunities for automation and efficiency improvements.
- Ensure automation systems comply with safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
