Electricians in the yarn textile industry ensure uninterrupted operation of heavy machinery (e.g., blowrooms, carding machines, ring frames, and autoconers). They conduct preventive maintenance, troubleshoot electrical faults (motors, PLCs, VFDs), and maintain strict safety protocols to minimize costly production downtime.
Core Duties & Responsibilities:
1. Machinery & Equipment Maintenance
- Equipment Servicing: Regularly inspect and service high-torque motors, generators, control panels, and intricate sensors.
- PLC and Drive Troubleshooting: Diagnose issues with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), Human-Machine Interfaces (HMIs), and Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs) that regulate machine speeds.
- Breakdown Response: React quickly to equipment jams or electrical failures to reduce downtime in spinning, winding, and weaving processes.
2. Preventive & Predictive Maintenance
- Routine Audits: Execute scheduled Preventive Maintenance (PM) programs to detect wire wear, loose connections, or failing bearings before a breakdown occurs.
- Thermal Imaging: Utilize infrared analysis and thermographic imaging to identify overheating components in electrical cabinets and panels.
3. Power Distribution & Safety
- System Management: Monitor transformers, circuit breakers, and plant-wide power distribution networks.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to OSHA safety regulations and National Electrical Code (NEC) standards. This includes enforcing proper Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures during machine repairs.
4. Inventory & Administration
- Spare Parts Management: Keep track of electrical spare inventories (relays, contactors, fuses, wiring) and alert managers when reordering is necessary.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate logs of maintenance activities, parts used, and repair times to provide data for daily tracking and MIS reports.
- Blueprint Reading: Review technical diagrams, schematics, and wiring blueprints to properly install or modify electrical control circuits.
5. Team Coordination
- Cross-Departmental Work: Coordinate with production supervisors, mechanics, and maintenance managers to align electrical tasks with operational schedules. [1, 2]
- OEM Communication: Work alongside Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) service engineers when installing new machinery or resolving complex warranty/critical issues
Qualifications:
- ITI or Diploma in Electrical
- Minimum 3 Years Experience in Textile Industry should be preferred
Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹23,000.00 per month
