Job Description
A Montessori Teacher guides children’s academic, social, emotional, and physical development using the Montessori philosophy. The teacher prepares a carefully structured environment that encourages independence, curiosity, and hands-on learning, while observing and supporting each child’s individual growth.
Key ResponsibilitiesClassroom & Learning Environment
- Prepare and maintain a Montessori classroom that is orderly, calm, and developmentally appropriate
- Use authentic Montessori materials to support self-directed learning
- Create an environment that promotes independence, concentration, and respect
Instruction & Child Development
- Present individual and small-group lessons according to Montessori principles
- Observe students regularly and adapt lessons to meet individual needs
- Support development in practical life, sensorial, language, math, and cultural studies
- Encourage problem-solving, critical thinking, and intrinsic motivation
Observation & Assessment
- Keep accurate observation records and student progress reports
- Use observations to guide lesson planning and classroom organization
- Identify developmental milestones and areas needing support
Classroom Management & Guidance
- Model and reinforce grace and courtesy
- Guide behavior using positive, respectful discipline techniques
- Foster a peaceful, inclusive, and cooperative classroom community
Communication & Collaboration
- Communicate regularly with parents/guardians about student progress
- Participate in parent conferences, meetings, and school events
- Collaborate with assistants, administrators, and support staff
Professional Responsibilities
- Maintain Montessori certification and participate in ongoing professional development
- Follow school policies, licensing regulations, and safety procedures
- Uphold the values and philosophy of Montessori education
Qualifications (Typical)
- Montessori certification (AMI, AMS, or equivalent) for the appropriate age group
- Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field (preferred)
- Experience working with children in a Montessori or child-centered setting
- Strong observation, communication, and organizational skills
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹20,000.00 per month
