- Design reliable data-acquisition, sensor-sampling, buffering, and processing systems.
- Implement embedded communication interfaces using UART, SPI, I²C, USB, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, cellular, and satellite technologies.
- Develop firmware for remote device configuration, monitoring, diagnostics, command handling, and firmware updates.
- Design robust SD card data-logging and file-management systems.
- Optimize firmware for low-power operation and extended battery life.
- Troubleshoot communication failures, sensor noise, timing issues, memory problems, race conditions, and field-related firmware issues.
- Develop production-test firmware, diagnostic tools, engineering utilities, and automated test applications.
- Investigate issues reported during field deployments and implement reliable corrective actions.
- Participate in firmware architecture reviews, code reviews, documentation, release management, and version control.
- Collaborate closely with hardware, software, production, testing, and field-operations teams.
- Review electrical schematics and provide feedback on hardware designs.
- Support PCB bring-up, prototype testing, product validation, and production transition.
- Help define coding standards, engineering best practices, testing procedures, and firmware-development processes.
- Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance when required.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
- At least 8 years of professional embedded firmware development experience.

- Experience developing firmware for STM32, Nordic, or similar ARM Cortex-M microcontrollers.
- Strong knowledge of FreeRTOS or another real-time operating system.
- Deep understanding of interrupts, DMA, timers, task scheduling, concurrency, synchronization, and memory management.
- Strong understanding of real-time embedded-system design.
- Experience designing and debugging embedded communication protocols.
- Hands-on experience with UART, SPI, I²C, USB, Bluetooth, and Wi-Fi.
- Experience developing battery-powered embedded products.
- Experience debugging complex hardware-software integration issues.
- Proficiency with oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, multimeters, ST-Link, J-Link, and embedded debugging tools.
- Ability to read and understand electrical schematics.
- Experience collaborating with hardware and PCB-design engineers.
- Familiarity with Git or another version-control system.
- Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of assigned projects in a remote environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with digital signal processing.
- Knowledge of FFTs, digital filters, signal analysis, signal detection, and noise-reduction techniques.
- Experience working with magnetic sensors, geophones, accelerometers, ADCs, GPS receivers, or industrial sensing systems.
- Experience with LTE-M, NB-IoT, LTE Cat-1, or other cellular IoT technologies.
- Experience integrating satellite communication modules.
- Knowledge of GNSS, GPS timing, RTC synchronization, and PPS signals.
- Experience developing bootloaders, secure firmware, and over-the-air firmware update systems.
- Experience with FAT file systems, SD card logging, file recovery, and protection against data corruption.
- Familiarity with Python for test automation, data processing, or engineering tools.
- Experience developing industrial, automotive, aerospace, medical, defence, telecommunications, or oil and gas products.
- Knowledge of EMI, grounding, shielding, power-supply noise, and sensor-noise mitigation.
- Experience with low-power modes, battery monitoring, and power optimization.
- Experience with embedded TCP/IP networking and cloud-connected devices.
- Experience supporting products after deployment in demanding field environments.
