Job Summary
The Electrician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical systems and equipment within the hospital premises and all hospital-related facilities. The role ensures uninterrupted power supply, safe electrical operations, and compliance with safety standards to support patient care and hospital operations.
Key ResponsibilitiesElectrical Maintenance
- Perform routine inspection and preventive maintenance of electrical systems.
- Maintain electrical panels, wiring, switches, sockets, lighting systems, and power distribution equipment.
- Ensure proper functioning of generators, UPS systems, and emergency power backup systems.
- Monitor electrical loads and identify potential issues before failures occur.
Troubleshooting & Repairs
- Attend and resolve electrical complaints from various hospital departments.
- Diagnose and repair electrical faults promptly to minimize operational disruptions.
- Respond immediately to electrical emergencies within the hospital premises.
- Carry out repairs in hospital-owned buildings, staff quarters, and other hospital-related facilities when required.
Equipment Support
- Provide electrical support for medical and non-medical equipment.
- Coordinate with biomedical and maintenance teams during equipment installation and maintenance.
- Ensure electrical connections meet operational and safety requirements.
Safety & Compliance
- Follow electrical safety regulations and hospital safety policies.
- Ensure proper grounding and protection of electrical systems.
- Maintain a safe working environment and use appropriate PPE during maintenance activities.
- Report potential hazards and recommend corrective actions.
Documentation
- Maintain records of maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections.
- Record electrical breakdowns and corrective measures taken.
- Assist in preparing maintenance reports and inventory requirements.
