Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced BIM Team Leader – Structural to lead a team delivering structural BIM models for projects across the Australia, USA and Middle East region. This is a service-provider-side role: the successful candidate will own project estimation, team leadership, quality control, and client coordination for structural BIM deliverables — while continuing to guide Modeling and documentation output through hands-on technical oversight.
Key Responsibilities
- Project Estimates: Prepare BIM Modeling effort estimates for new proposals and change orders, based on project scope, drawings, and LOD requirements.
- Leading the Team: Lead a team of BIM engineers & Architects, setting priorities, monitoring progress, and ensuring the team meets project milestones.
- Training the Team: Onboard, train, and upskill BIM modelers on software, Modeling standards, and project-specific workflows.
- Quality Checks: Review and sign off on structural BIM models before client submission, ensuring compliance with LOD/LOI requirements and project BIM standards.
- Modeling: Provide hands-on Modeling support and technical guidance on complex structural elements, ensuring model accuracy and consistency.
- Documentation: Maintain BIM Execution Plans (BEP), Modeling standards, naming conventions, and process documentation for each project.
- Task Delegation: Break down project scope into discipline-specific tasks and delegate work across the team based on individual skill and workload.
- Project Management: Manage timelines, resourcing, and deliverable schedules across multiple concurrent projects, escalating risks early.
- Clash Detection: Coordinate structural model federation with Architecture, MEP, and Civil teams, and lead clash detection and resolution using Navisworks Manage or Autodesk Forma Design Collaboration.
- Client Meetings: Attend client calls and coordination meetings across US, Middle East, and Australia time zones, presenting progress, addressing RFIs, and managing submittal expectations.
- CDE Compliance: Ensure all deliverables are managed correctly through the Common Data Environment (ACC/BIM 360, Autodesk Forma).
- Issue Tracking: Track and close out coordination issues, maintaining a clear audit trail of resolutions.

- Comfortable using MS Project/Excel or similar tools for scheduling and resource tracking
Leadership & Team Management Expectations
- Proven experience leading a BIM team of 10–20 members
- Ability to delegate tasks effectively and hold the team accountable to project schedules and quality benchmarks
- Strong client-facing communication skills, comfortable working across US, Middle East, and Australian time zones
- A quality-first mindset — comfortable enforcing QA/QC discipline even under tight delivery deadlines
- Experience conducting technical training and onboarding for junior team members
