We are looking for a qualified and experienced Consultant Pathologist with 1–2 years of relevant experience to join our Pathology Department. The candidate will be responsible for accurate diagnosis and interpretation of laboratory investigations, maintaining quality standards, and ensuring compliance with NABL guidelines and laboratory protocols.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform and interpret Hematology, Histopathology, Clinical Pathology, Cytology, Biochemistry, and other routine laboratory investigations.
- Review and validate laboratory test results before report authorization.
- Handle and interpret CBC, peripheral smear, coagulation profiles, urine/stool examinations, and other hematological investigations.
- Perform and report cytology examinations, including FNAC and other applicable cytological samples.
- Review and interpret biochemistry investigations, including LFT, KFT, lipid profile, electrolytes, glucose, enzymes, and other routine tests.
- Supervise and guide laboratory technicians and other pathology staff.
- Ensure proper sample collection, labeling, processing, storage, and disposal as per laboratory protocols.
- Ensure accuracy, reliability, and timely reporting of laboratory results.
- Maintain and implement NABL standards, quality control procedures, SOPs, and documentation.
- Participate in Internal Quality Control (IQC) and External Quality Assessment (EQAS) programs.
- Monitor calibration, maintenance, and functioning of laboratory equipment.
- Identify and investigate abnormal, critical, or discrepant laboratory results.
- Ensure proper documentation of quality indicators, corrective and preventive actions (CAPA), and non-conformities.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and follow all applicable laboratory safety and infection-control protocols.
- Coordinate with clinicians and other departments regarding laboratory investigations and critical results.
- Participate in laboratory audits, inspections, quality meetings, and NABL-related activities.
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies, biomedical waste management rules, and laboratory safety guidelines.
- Assist in developing and updating SOPs, quality manuals, checklists, and laboratory protocols.
- Ensure smooth day-to-day functioning of the Pathology Department.
- Stay updated with current diagnostic techniques, laboratory standards, and best practices.
Required Qualifications
- MBBS + MD/DNB in Pathology from a recognized institution.
- 1–2 years of experience in Pathology/Laboratory Medicine preferred.
- Sound knowledge of Hematology, Cytology, Biochemistry, Clinical Pathology, and Histopathology.
- Knowledge of NABL accreditation requirements and quality management systems.
Pay: ₹150,000.00 - ₹170,000.00 per month
