We are seeking a skilled and forward-thinking Content Writer with deep expertise in SEO and AI Search Optimisation (AISO) to support our Marketing & Communications team in Malaysia remotely. The ideal candidate will craft compelling long-form content, develop marketing collateral, and drive organic visibility across digital channels — including AI-powered discovery platforms such as ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Google's AI Overviews. This is a high-impact role at the intersection of editorial quality, search strategy, and brand storytelling.
Key Responsibilities
Content Creation & Editorial
- Research, write, and edit high-quality long-form content including blog posts, whitepapers, curriculum guides, webpage content and thought leadership articles
- Develop marketing content across channels including landing pages, email campaigns, social media copy, brochures, and digital ads
- Maintain a consistent brand voice across all written materials in alignment with Campus and Parent Company’s style guidelines
- Collaborate with subject-matter experts (educators, leadership) to produce authoritative, accurate, and engaging content
- Adapt content for diverse audiences — prospective families, educators, partners, and institutional stakeholders
SEO & AISO Strategy
- Lead keyword research, content gap analysis, and on-page SEO optimisation across GSG's web properties
- Apply AI Search Optimisation (AISO) principles to ensure content surfaces in AI-generated answers, featured snippets, and answer engine results (AEO)
- Implement structured data / schema markup (FAQ, HowTo, Course, EducationalOrganization) to maximise AI discoverability
- Write and optimise AEO answer blocks — concise, authoritative responses designed to be cited by AI models and answer engines
- Monitor and analyse search performance using tools such as Google Search Console, Ahrefs, SEMrush, and Screaming Frog; translate insights into actionable content improvements
- Stay current with algorithm updates, generative search developments, and emerging AISO best practices
Content Strategy & Planning
- Contribute to the development and execution of the annual content calendar aligned to Campus enrolment cycles, campaigns, and brand milestones
- Support SEO-driven website architecture decisions including internal linking, pillar-cluster content models, and taxonomy planning
- Conduct competitor content benchmarking and deliver insights to the wider marketing team
- Collaborate with design, digital, and social teams to ensure integrated content delivery across touchpoints
Reporting & Optimisation
- Track content performance metrics (organic traffic, keyword rankings, time on page, AI citation frequency) and report findings monthly
- Continuously A/B test headlines, meta descriptions, and content structures to improve click-through rates and dwell time
- Recommend and implement content refreshes for underperforming legacy pages
Qualifications & Experience
Essential
- Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field
- Between 2-5 years of professional experience in content writing with a demonstrable focus on SEO and, preferably, AISO / AEO
- Hands-on experience with SEO tools such as Ahrefs, SEMrush, Google Analytics 4, and Google Search Console
- Working knowledge of schema markup / structured data and its role in AI search visibility
- Strong understanding of marketing content strategy, buyer personas, and the customer journey
