We are a fast growing agro-based business with a head office in Kolkata and layer farms in Jharkhand.
Job Description:
We are seeking a proactive, detail-oriented, and hands-on accounting professional who can take ownership of the company's finance and accounting operations.
The successful candidate will be based at our Kolkata head office and will supervise junior accounts personnel located at our farms in Jharkhand. The role requires regular coordination with management, auditors, chartered accountants and banks to ensure timely compliance and smooth financial operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the company's overall accounts and finance function.
- Ensure timely preparation and filing of GST returns and statutory compliances.
- Supervise accounting entries and maintain accurate records in Tally.
- Review work completed by junior accounts staff across multiple farm locations.
- Handle payroll processing and employee-related statutory compliances.
- Coordinate with Chartered Accountants, auditors, banks, and government authorities.
- Manage TDS, PF, ESI, Professional Tax, and other applicable statutory requirements.
- Prepare MIS reports, financial statements, and cash flow reports for management.
- Monitor receivables, payables, and banking transactions.
- Assist with budgeting, financial planning, and internal controls.
- Maintain proper accounting documentation and support audits.
- Identify and apply for eligible Central and State Government subsidies and incentive schemes.
- Coordinate loan documentation, term loan servicing, and banking relationships.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Commerce, Finance, or Accounting.
- 2-6 years of relevant accounting and finance experience.
- Strong working knowledge of Tally ERP/TallyPrime and Microsoft Excel.
- Thorough understanding of GST, TDS, Income Tax, payroll, and statutory compliance.
- Experience dealing with banks, auditors, and government departments.
- Experience handling term loans, subsidy applications, and government incentive schemes will be highly preferred.
- Experience in manufacturing, agriculture, poultry, or FMCG industries is an advantage.
