Position: Staff Nurse – NICU & PICU

Location: Crescent Pediatric and Neonatology Centre(Calicut,Malappuram,Thrissur)
Job Summary
The Staff Nurse – NICU & PICU is responsible for providing comprehensive nursing care to critically ill neonates, infants, children, and pediatric patients admitted to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) and Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU). The nurse ensures safe, compassionate, and evidence-based patient care while maintaining professional nursing standards and hospital policies.
Key Responsibilities
Patient Care
- Provide direct nursing care to neonates and pediatric patients as per physician orders and nursing protocols.
- Monitor and record vital signs, intake-output charts, and patient progress.
- Assess patients' conditions and promptly report any changes to the concerned physician.
- Administer medications, IV fluids, blood products, and treatments safely and accurately.
- Assist in medical and emergency procedures.
NICU & PICU Clinical Responsibilities
- Care for critically ill neonates and pediatric patients requiring intensive monitoring.
- Operate and monitor ventilators, infusion pumps, monitors, CPAP, and other critical care equipment.
- Assist in neonatal and pediatric resuscitation procedures.
- Maintain airway management and oxygen therapy as prescribed.
- Ensure infection prevention and control measures are strictly followed.
Documentation & Records
- Maintain accurate and timely nursing documentation.
- Record assessments, interventions, medications, and patient responses.
- Complete nursing reports and shift handover documentation.
- Ensure confidentiality of patient information.
Patient Safety & Quality Care
- Follow hospital policies, protocols, and patient safety guidelines.
- Identify and report incidents, medication errors, and adverse events.
- Participate in quality improvement and patient safety initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with infection control standards.
Family Education & Support
- Provide emotional support to parents and family members.
- Educate caregivers regarding patient care, feeding, hygiene, and discharge instructions.
- Communicate patient updates as directed by the medical team.
Equipment & Inventory Management
- Ensure proper handling and maintenance of nursing equipment.
- Check emergency equipment and crash carts regularly.
- Monitor availability of medicines and consumables in the unit.
- Report equipment malfunction immediately.
Professional Development
- Participate in training programs, workshops, and continuing nursing education.
- Maintain professional competency in neonatal and pediatric critical care.
- Attend departmental meetings and clinical discussions.
Qualifications
- GNM / B.Sc. Nursing / Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing
- Valid Nursing Council Registration
Experience
- Freshers may apply for junior positions.
- Minimum 1–2 years of experience in NICU, PICU.

Immediate Joining Preffered
Pay: ₹8,086.00 - ₹44,983.24 per month
Work Location: In person
