Job Purpose:
The Buy Side Analyst will be responsible for generating and monitoring investment ideas, preparing detailed financial models, meeting companies and analysts, and communicating efficiently with HNI/UHNI clients, sales traders, and the sales team about the stocks under coverage on a regular basis.
Major Accountabilities:
oBuild advanced financial models complete with forecasted P&L, BS, and CF statements, including DCF and relative valuation analysis.
- Sector and Stock Analysis:
oEnsure a comprehensive understanding of the sectors and drivers of all tracked stocks. Conduct thorough due diligence, including studying annual reports and identifying trends ahead of time.
oKnowledge and understanding of various valuation methodologies and metrics.
- Investment Thesis and Research:
oPrepare investment theses for stocks under coverage.
oConduct sector research and screen for potential investment ideas using a mix of valuation, industry research, and preparation of company profiles.
oPrepare investment pitches and present stock ideas to the investment team.
- Collaboration and Idea Generation:
oWork directly with the senior portfolio manager to identify and recommend investment ideas.
oEvaluate stocks through a hybrid approach of top-down and bottom-up research.
oGenerate new actionable ideas throughout the year, focusing on relatively under-researched stocks, and present these ideas with conviction to the team.
- Client Interaction and Database Management:
oInteract with clients to understand their needs and communicate them to the team.
oManage databases, develop cash-flow/surveillance models, use third-party wrapper libraries, and perform data analytics.
oWork closely with investment team members to ensure superior performance across recommended stocks and portfolios.
oMaintain a harmonious working atmosphere within the team.

Ideal Background:
- Educational Qualification:
oCA/CFA/MBA (Tier 1 institute preferred) with 5+ years of total experience and 3-5 years of post-qualification experience.
oMandatory research experience in portfolio management.
oAbility to understand and analyze annual reports, financial statements, and call transcripts.
oProven ability to perform advanced financial modeling from scratch with strong Excel skills.
oExperience with Factset, Bloomberg, Captilline, and other allied financial products.
oStrong command of language and ability to write research reports.
oAnalytical mindset with attention to detail.
oSelf-starter with effective communication skills.
oAbility to build strong, effective networks.
