As we expand our digital presence, we are looking for a talented Video Editor to join our creative team and help us tell compelling stories through video.
Role Overview
We are seeking a creative and technically skilled Video Editor to produce high-quality educational, promotional, and instructional video content for our online courses, social media platforms, website, and marketing campaigns. The ideal candidate will have a strong command of editing software, a keen eye for detail, and a passion for storytelling through visuals .
Key Responsibilities
- Edit and produce high-quality videos for educational courses, promotional campaigns, social media (Instagram Reels, YouTube, LinkedIn), and digital platforms .
- Collaborate with instructional designers, content creators, and the marketing team to understand project requirements and deliver impactful visual content .
- Enhance raw footage with motion graphics, animations, transitions, text overlays, sound effects, and color correction .
- Create short-form videos, reels, explainers, tutorials, and promotional videos optimized for various platforms .
- Ensure brand consistency and storytelling quality across all video content, adhering to KCL's visual guidelines .
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines and maintaining high quality standards .
- Organize and maintain a well-structured asset library of raw and edited files .
- Stay updated with the latest video editing trends, techniques, tools, and platform-specific requirements .
Qualifications & SkillsRequired:
- Proficiency in video editing software: Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, and DaVinci Resolve .
- Strong understanding of visual storytelling, pacing, transitions, audio syncing, and color correction .
- Experience with motion graphics, animations, and text overlays .
- Ability to edit for social media – knowledge of hooks, captions, retention strategies, and platform-specific formats (Reels, Shorts, etc.) .
- Sound design skills – music selection, mixing, voiceover cleanup .
- Attention to detail and ability to identify and correct technical and creative issues .
- Excellent collaboration, communication, and time management skills .
Preferred:
- 2+ years of professional video editing experience, preferably in educational or instructional video production .
- Experience with screen recording tools such as Camtasia or OBS Studio .
- Familiarity with eLearning content and Learning Management Systems (LMS) .
- Knowledge of accessibility standards and inclusive content creation .
