Key Responsibilities
Billing Operations
- Prepare accurate and timely inpatient bills for discharged patients.
- Verify all patient charges including room rent, nursing charges, doctor consultation fees, procedures, investigations, pharmacy, consumables, implants, and miscellaneous charges.
- Ensure all services provided are captured before bill generation.
- Process interim bills whenever required.
- Generate final bills during patient discharge.
Billing Verification
- Cross-check billing entries against physician orders and departmental records.
- Identify and rectify billing discrepancies before finalization.
- Ensure appropriate package billing wherever applicable.
- Verify discounts and approvals as per hospital policy.
Insurance & Corporate Billing
- Coordinate with Insurance/TPA/Corporate departments regarding billing requirements.
- Verify insurance approvals and sanctioned amounts.
- Prepare bills according to TPA guidelines.
- Submit necessary billing documents to insurance coordinators.
Patient & Attendant Support
- Explain billing details to patients and attendants professionally.
- Address billing-related queries and concerns.
- Coordinate with cashiers for payment collection.
- Ensure a smooth discharge billing process.
Documentation
- Maintain billing records accurately.
- Ensure proper documentation of approvals, discounts, and corrections.
- File billing documents as per hospital policy.
- Maintain confidentiality of patient information.
Reports
- Generate daily billing reports.
- Prepare pending bill reports.
- Assist in revenue reconciliation.
- Support monthly billing audits.
Compliance
- Follow hospital billing policies and SOPs.
- Maintain patient confidentiality.
- Ensure compliance with applicable healthcare regulations and accreditation standards.
- Participate in internal and external audits.
Job Specification
Educational Qualification
- Bachelor's Degree in Commerce (B.Com), Business Administration (BBA), Hospital Administration, or any equivalent degree.
- Diploma/Certification in Hospital Administration or Medical Billing is desirable.
Experience
- 0–2 years: Junior IP Billing Executive.
- 2–5 years: IP Billing Executive.
- Experience in a multi-specialty hospital is preferred.
Pay: From ₹15,000.00 per month
