JOB DESCRIPTION – ASSISTANT GENERAL MANAGER

Job Summary
We are looking for a highly experienced Assistant General Manager to oversee the overall functioning of the Facility Management business. The role will have end-to-end responsibility for Operations, Operations Managers, HR coordination, Finance, Client Management, manpower, collections, profitability and overall team performance.
The candidate will act as a key link between the Owner/Management and the Operations Team, ensuring that all departments and sites function efficiently and business objectives are achieved.
Key Responsibilities
1. Overall Business & Operations Management
- Oversee the complete day-to-day operations of the Facility Management business.
- Take overall responsibility for the performance of all client sites and operational teams.
- Monitor manpower deployment, service quality, attendance, productivity, discipline and client requirements.
- Ensure all sites operate as per company SOPs, client requirements and agreed service standards.
- Identify operational issues and ensure timely corrective action.
2. Operations Manager Management
- Directly manage and supervise Operations Managers, Facility Managers and Site Supervisors.
- Allocate responsibilities and set clear targets for Operations Managers.
- Conduct regular review meetings with Operations Managers and monitor their KRA/KPI performance.
- Track site-wise performance, manpower gaps, client complaints, attendance, attrition and operational issues.
- Hold Operations Managers accountable for site performance, client satisfaction and team productivity.
- Support and coach Operations Managers to improve their performance.
- Escalate critical operational matters to the Owner with appropriate recommendations.
3. Team Leadership & People Management
- Lead and manage large teams across Operations, HR, Recruitment, Training and support functions.
- Ensure clear delegation of responsibilities and accountability across departments.
- Conduct regular management review meetings and performance discussions.
- Monitor departmental targets, productivity and manpower requirements.
- Identify high performers and performance gaps and take appropriate corrective action.
- Build a disciplined, accountable and performance-oriented management team.
4. Finance & Commercial Management
- Oversee billing, collections, receivables and outstanding payments.
- Review site-wise revenue, manpower cost, overtime, expenses and profitability.
- Coordinate with Finance to ensure timely invoicing and collection follow-ups.
- Monitor operational expenses and identify opportunities for cost reduction.
- Review financial and operational MIS and report key concerns to the Owner.
5. HR & Manpower Management
- Coordinate with HR regarding manpower planning, recruitment and critical vacancies.
- Monitor employee attrition, absenteeism, replacements and manpower availability.
- Review attendance and payroll-related issues with HR and Operations.
- Ensure timely recruitment and deployment for open positions.
- Support employee discipline, grievance handling and retention initiatives.
6. Client Management
- Maintain strong relationships with key clients and decision-makers.
- Participate in client meetings, service reviews and contract discussions.
- Handle escalated client complaints and ensure timely resolution.
- Monitor client satisfaction and identify opportunities for service improvement and business retention.
7. Management Reporting
- Act as the primary reporting point between Operations/Departments and the Owner.
- Prepare and present regular management MIS and business performance reports.
- Report on revenue, collections, expenses, profitability, manpower, attrition, client issues and site performance.
- Highlight critical issues, risks and opportunities to the Owner along with recommended actions.
- Ensure management decisions are communicated and implemented effectively across teams.
8. Process Improvement & Business Growth
- Review existing operational processes and identify inefficiencies.
- Implement systems and processes to improve productivity, service quality and cost efficiency.
- Support the Owner in business planning, expansion and new client onboarding.
- Assist in preparing proposals, manpower costing and operational plans for new business opportunities.
Key Skills & Experience
- 8–12 years of experience in Facility Management, Hospitality, Housekeeping, Manpower Services or a similar industry.
- Proven experience managing Operations Managers and large frontline teams.
- Strong exposure to Operations, Finance, HR, Client Management and Business Administration.
- Experience handling multiple sites and large-scale manpower operations.
- Strong understanding of billing, collections, costing and profitability.
- Excellent leadership, delegation and team-management skills.
- Strong decision-making, problem-solving and negotiation abilities.
- Excellent communication and client-handling skills.
- Good knowledge of MS Excel, MIS and management reporting.
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of overall business performance.

Pay: ₹60,000.00 - ₹70,000.00 per month
