Job Summary:
The Primary Teacher is responsible for creating a positive, engaging, and effective learning environment for students in Grades 1 to 5. The teacher will plan, prepare, and deliver lessons aligned with the school curriculum while fostering students' academic, social, emotional, and moral development.
Key Responsibilities:Academic Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver age-appropriate lessons according to the prescribed curriculum.
- Prepare lesson plans, teaching aids, worksheets, and assessment materials.
- Conduct regular classroom assessments and maintain student performance records.
- Encourage critical thinking, creativity, and problem-solving skills among students.
- Differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs.
Classroom Management
- Maintain discipline and create a safe, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment.
- Establish classroom rules and routines that promote positive behavior.
- Monitor student attendance and punctuality.
Student Development
- Foster students' social, emotional, and personal growth.
- Identify learning difficulties and provide appropriate support.
- Encourage participation in co-curricular and extracurricular activities.
- Promote values such as respect, responsibility, honesty, and teamwork.
Parent Communication
- Maintain regular communication with parents regarding student progress.
- Attend parent-teacher meetings and provide constructive feedback.
- Address parent concerns professionally and promptly.
Administrative Duties
- Maintain accurate academic records, report cards, and documentation.
- Participate in school meetings, training programs, workshops, and events.
- Support school initiatives, celebrations, competitions, and educational trips.
- Follow all school policies, procedures, and safety guidelines.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Education (B.Ed.) or equivalent teaching qualification.
- Graduate/Postgraduate degree in relevant subject(s).
- D.El.Ed./D.Ed. preferred for primary education.
- CTET/TET qualification preferred (where applicable).
Experience:
- 1–5 years of teaching experience in a primary school preferred.
- Freshers with excellent communication and teaching skills may also apply.
