Position: Primary Teacher (PRT) – Science
Department: Primary Section (Classes I–V)
Job Summary
A PRT Science teacher is responsible for teaching basic science concepts to primary students in an easy, activity-based, and practical manner. The role focuses on developing curiosity, observation skills, and understanding of everyday science in young learners.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach Science to Classes I–V:
- Plants and animals
- Human body and health
- Food, water, and air
- Weather and seasons
- Light, sound, and basic forces (intro level)
- Our environment and safety habits
- Prepare lesson plans, worksheets, and activity-based teaching materials.
- Use experiments, models, charts, and real-life examples for teaching.
- Conduct classroom activities, demonstrations, and group projects.
- Develop scientific curiosity and observation skills among students.
- Conduct regular assessments, oral tests, and written evaluations.
- Maintain student records, attendance, and progress reports.
- Provide remedial support to slow learners.
- Organize science-based activities, nature walks, and simple experiments.
- Maintain a safe, interactive, and child-friendly classroom environment.
- Communicate with parents regarding student performance.
- Participate in PTMs, school events, and training programs.
Required Qualifications
- Graduation in Science (Physics/Chemistry/Biology or General Science).
- D.El.Ed / BTC / JBT / B.Ed. (mandatory in most schools).
- CTET (Paper I) preferred for CBSE schools.
- Basic understanding of science concepts and child psychology.
Experience
- Fresher or 1–5 years of primary teaching experience preferred.
- Experience handling primary classes is an advantage.
