Job Summary
We are looking for a skilled and passionate Chinese Chef to prepare authentic Chinese cuisine while maintaining high standards of food quality, hygiene, and presentation. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in wok cooking, menu planning, and kitchen operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook a variety of Chinese dishes such as fried rice, noodles, soups, starters, gravies, and stir-fry items.
- Ensure consistency in taste, quality, and presentation of all dishes.
- Plan daily food preparation (mise en place) and manage the Chinese kitchen section.
- Maintain food hygiene, cleanliness, and kitchen safety as per FSSAI standards.
- Monitor inventory, control food costs, and minimize wastage.
- Coordinate with the purchase team for ordering fresh ingredients.
- Train and supervise Commis Chefs and kitchen assistants.
- Ensure timely food preparation and service during busy hours.
- Maintain kitchen equipment and report any maintenance issues.
Requirements
- 2–5 years of experience as a Chinese Chef in a hotel or restaurant.
- Strong knowledge of Chinese cooking techniques, sauces, and ingredients.
- Expertise in wok cooking and handling high-volume kitchen operations.
- Good understanding of food safety and hygiene practices.
- Ability to work under pressure and in rotational shifts.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Diploma or Certificate in Hotel Management/Culinary Arts.
- Experience in multi-cuisine or hotel operations is an added advantage.
Salary
₹20,000 – ₹35,000 per month (Based on experience and skills)
