Role Summary
The Junior Audit Associate supports the audit team in executing internal, statutory, stock, and tax audit assignments, ensuring compliance with applicable accounting standards and regulatory requirements. This is a hands-on, supervised role focused on professional development: the incumbent performs vouching and verification, prepares working papers, and assists in drafting financial statements and audit reports, all under the guidance of Senior Associates and Managers. The role suits someone early in their audit career who is accurate, detail-oriented, and eager to learn, and who is comfortable travelling to client sites — averaging about two weeks per assignment cycle — to build practical exposure across industries.
Key Responsibilities
Audit Execution Support
- Perform basic audit procedures, including vouching and verification of accounts and balances.
- Conduct periodic physical stock audits at client premises.
- Collect and organise client data required for audit fieldwork.
Working Papers & Reporting
- Prepare working papers, schedules, and audit documentation under supervision.
- Assist in drafting financial statements and audit reports.
- Report discrepancies and findings to Senior Associates / Managers on a timely basis.
Professional Knowledge
- Stay current with the Companies Act, GST, and Income Tax provisions relevant to assignments.
Candidate Requirements
- Education: B.Com / M.Com with audit exposure.
- Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience in the field of audit.
- Software: Familiarity with MS Excel, Tally, or other ERP / accounting software preferred.
- Technical Skills: Basic knowledge of accounting standards, auditing principles, and Income Tax, TDS, and GST laws; comfortable with basic audit procedures and MS Excel.
- Attributes: Attention to detail, clear communication, teamwork, and a willingness to learn; strong professional integrity — ethical conduct, confidentiality, and adherence to ICAI standards.
