About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Senior Visa Officer – Australian Migration Specialist with strong expertise in Australian visa applications, immigration documentation, and case processing.
The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience managing Australian migration and visa applications from initial assessment through lodgement and post-lodgement follow-up. The candidate must be capable of independently reviewing complex cases, identifying documentation gaps, ensuring application accuracy, and guiding junior visa officers on Australian immigration procedures and documentation standards.
This is a technical and senior-level role requiring strong knowledge of Australian visa subclasses, Department of Home Affairs requirements, documentation standards, application procedures, and compliance requirements.
Key Responsibilities
1. Australian Visa Application Management
- Independently manage and process Australian migration and visa applications from assessment to lodgement.
- Review client profiles and determine appropriate visa pathways based on eligibility and documentation.
- Prepare, review and verify visa application forms, supporting documents, statements and other required submissions.
- Ensure applications are complete, accurate and aligned with current Department of Home Affairs requirements.
- Handle complex and high-value migration cases with minimal supervision.
- Monitor application progress and coordinate timely responses to requests from the Department of Home Affairs.
2. Technical Case Assessment
- Conduct detailed assessment of client profiles, including:
- Age and qualification
- Work experience
- English language proficiency
- Skills assessment
- Occupation and ANZSCO alignment
- State nomination eligibility
- Family/dependent circumstances
- Visa history
- Health and character requirements
- Identify potential risks, gaps, inconsistencies or issues before application lodgement.
- Recommend appropriate documentation and corrective actions to strengthen applications.
- Escalate complex or high-risk cases to the Migration Head / Registered Migration Agent where required.
3. Australian Migration Expertise
Strong working knowledge of relevant Australian migration pathways, including where applicable:
- Skilled migration visas
- Employer-sponsored visas
- State/Territory nominated visas
- Partner and family visas
- Student and dependent visas
- Visitor visas
- Graduate and temporary visas
- Permanent residency pathways
- Relevant bridging visa processes
- Visa extensions and subsequent applications
Knowledge of ANMAC, ACS, VETASSESS and other relevant skills assessment authorities will be an advantage.
4. Documentation & Compliance
- Conduct detailed document verification and quality checks before lodgement.
- Ensure consistency across application forms, supporting documents and client declarations.
- Identify missing, outdated or potentially problematic documentation.
- Maintain accurate client records and case documentation in the CRM/internal systems.
- Ensure strict adherence to company SOPs and Australian immigration compliance requirements.
- Maintain confidentiality of client information and sensitive documentation.
5. Client & Internal Coordination
- Communicate professionally with clients regarding documentation requirements, application progress and procedural matters.
- Explain complex visa documentation requirements clearly and professionally.
- Coordinate with Sales, Application, Telecalling and Documentation teams to ensure smooth case movement.
- Maintain professional communication with clients throughout the application lifecycle.
- Handle client queries and concerns relating to visa documentation and processing.
6. Quality Control & Team Support
- Conduct final quality checks of applications prepared by Visa Officers.
- Review cases before submission to minimise errors, omissions and documentation inconsistencies.
- Identify recurring documentation or process errors and recommend improvements.
- Train and mentor junior Visa Officers on Australian visa documentation and application procedures.
- Assist the team in developing checklists, SOPs and documentation standards.
- Support the Migration Head in improving overall application quality and processing efficiency.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification.
- 4–7+ years of relevant experience in Australian migration / visa processing.
- Strong hands-on experience in Australian visa application processing.
- Good understanding of Australian immigration processes and Department of Home Affairs requirements.
- Strong knowledge of Australian visa subclasses and migration pathways.
- Excellent documentation and application review skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to identify inconsistencies.
- Good written and verbal English communication skills.
- Ability to independently manage multiple client applications.
- Strong organisational and case-management skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office and CRM/document management systems.

What We Are Looking For
We are looking for someone who is technically strong, detail-oriented and confident in Australian migration case processing.
The successful candidate should not merely be experienced in collecting documents or submitting applications. They should be capable of understanding the migration pathway, assessing the case, identifying risks, determining documentation requirements and ensuring the application is submission-ready.
