Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and result-oriented Production Supervisor to oversee day-to-day garment production operations in our women's ethnic wear manufacturing unit. The ideal candidate should have strong knowledge of apparel manufacturing processes, line balancing, manpower handling, quality control, production planning, and achieving daily production targets while maintaining quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
Production Planning & Execution
- Supervise daily production activities to ensure production targets are achieved.
- Allocate manpower efficiently across sewing lines based on production priorities.
- Monitor production flow from cutting to finishing and packing.
- Ensure smooth execution of production plans as per dispatch schedules.
- Minimize production delays and resolve line-related issues promptly.
Line Management
- Maintain optimum line efficiency through proper line balancing.
- Monitor hourly production reports and identify bottlenecks.
- Improve operator productivity through proper work allocation and guidance.
- Ensure minimum machine idle time and maximum utilization.
Quality Control
- Ensure garments meet company quality standards.
- Coordinate with the Quality team to reduce defects and rework.
- Implement corrective actions for recurring quality issues.
- Maintain first-pass quality and minimize rejection rates.
Team Management
- Supervise and motivate production operators, helpers, and line leaders.
- Conduct daily production meetings and assign work accordingly.
- Train new operators on production processes and quality expectations.
- Maintain discipline, attendance, and shop-floor productivity.
Process Improvement
- Identify opportunities to improve productivity and reduce wastage.
- Implement lean manufacturing and 5S practices wherever applicable.
- Monitor production efficiency and suggest process improvements.
- Coordinate with maintenance for timely machine repairs and preventive maintenance.
Coordination
- Coordinate with Cutting, Merchandising, Stores, Sampling, and Finishing departments.
- Ensure timely availability of fabrics, trims, and accessories for uninterrupted production.
- Follow up on pending work orders and expedite critical orders.
Documentation & Reporting
- Prepare daily production reports and efficiency reports.
- Monitor absenteeism, overtime, and manpower utilization.
- Report production status, delays, and issues to the Production Manager.
- Maintain production records and line performance data.
Safety & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with factory safety norms and company policies.
- Promote a safe and organized work environment.
- Maintain cleanliness and housekeeping on the production floor.
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of garment manufacturing processes.
- Expertise in women's ethnic wear construction and stitching methods.
- Good understanding of line balancing and production planning.
- Knowledge of industrial sewing machines and workflow management.
- Strong leadership and people management skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet production deadlines.
- Good problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Familiarity with production MIS and reporting.
Qualification
- Diploma/Degree in Garment Technology, Apparel Manufacturing, Textile Technology, or any relevant discipline.
- Candidates with equivalent industry experience may also be considered.
Experience
- 5–6 years of experience in garment manufacturing.
- Minimum 2–3 years of experience in a supervisory role.
- Experience in Women's Ethnic Wear manufacturing is mandatory.
Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹40,000.00 per month
