Overview
Join our dynamic finance team as an Accountant and play a vital role in managing and maintaining accurate financial records across various accounting functions. Duties
- Prepare, review, and analyze journal entries, account reconciliations, and balance sheet reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Manage accounts payable and receivable processes, including invoice processing, payment scheduling, and collections.
- Conduct detailed data entry using accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, PeopleSoft, or similar platforms.
- Support payroll management activities utilizing systems like ADP, Paychex, Kronos, UltiPro, or Ceridian to ensure timely and accurate employee compensation.
- Assist with tax preparation activities by maintaining detailed records of financial transactions and supporting documentation for audits.
- Perform internal audits to verify compliance with SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) controls and other regulatory requirements.
- Support budgeting processes by analyzing financial data, preparing reports, and providing insights for decision-making.
- Collaborate on special projects involving technical accounting issues or government contracts requiring precise application of GAAP or governmental accounting standards.
Experience
- Proven experience in corporate accounting with a strong understanding of financial concepts such as debits & credits, journal entries, general ledger management, and account analysis.
- Hands-on experience with accounting software including QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, PeopleSoft, or similar platforms; familiarity with payroll systems like ADP or Paychex is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of SOX compliance procedures and experience working within a regulated environment is a plus.
- Demonstrated ability in account reconciliation, balance sheet management, accounts payable/receivable processing, and month-end closing activities.
- Background in governmental or non-profit accounting is advantageous; familiarity with federal or state reporting requirements is a bonus.
- Strong mathematical skills coupled with attention to detail for accurate data entry and financial analysis.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment; experience with budgeting and credit analysis is beneficial.
