St. Joan's School Newtown is seeking an experienced and dedicated Special Educator to work with children from 2 years to Class IV, ensuring that every child receives the guidance, encouragement, and individualized support needed to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide individualized and small-group support to students with diverse learning profiles, including gifted learners and children with ADHD and autism.
- Design and implement differentiated instructional strategies and intervention plans tailored to individual learning needs.
- Collaborate closely with classroom teachers to create inclusive learning environments and strengthen support systems within mainstream classrooms.
- Conduct teacher training sessions, workshops, and awareness programs on neurodiversity, inclusive education, and effective classroom strategies.
- Develop, monitor, and review Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and student progress reports.
- Work collaboratively with parents, therapists, counsellors, and school leadership to ensure holistic student development.
- Foster a compassionate, inclusive, and student-centered culture within the school community.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Degree or certification in Special Education, Psychology, Child Development, or a related field.
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience working in a school setting with gifted students and children with ADHD, autism, and other learning differences.
- Strong understanding of inclusive education practices, differentiated instruction, behavior management, and early intervention strategies.
- Experience in teacher mentoring, parent counselling, and conducting professional development workshops will be highly valued.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and collaborative skills.
