Job Overview
The Career Guidance Counsellor will lead and manage end-to-end counselling operations under the MARG Career Guidance Program. This role involves conducting counselling sessions, interpreting psychometric assessments, and engaging with partner schools, and contributing to data analysis and program enhancement. The counsellor will also spearhead internship initiatives and manage freelance counsellor networks to ensure consistent, high-quality counselling delivery across schools.
Key Responsibilities
1. Student & Parent Counselling
· - Conduct one-on-one and group counselling sessions for students and their parents.
· - Interpret psychometric test reports covering Aptitude, Interest, and Personality dimensions.
· - Offer evidence-based career guidance and academic stream recommendations.
· - Address student and parent concerns with empathy and professionalism.
2. Counsellor & Intern Management
· - Initiate and manage internship programs for psychology and counselling students.
· - Train interns on psychometric report interpretation, counselling ethics, and communication skills.
· - Onboard, train, and monitor freelance counsellors to handle school counselling sessions independently.
· - Conduct regular training workshops and certification sessions to maintain counselling quality.
3. School & Stakeholder Engagement
· - Coordinate with school principals, management, and teachers to schedule counselling and orientation sessions.
· - Conduct awareness sessions and workshops for students, parents, and educators.
· - Represent MARG and ERA Foundation during external meetings, conferences, and events.
4. Analysis, Reporting & Quality Assurance
· - Perform data analysis of psychometric results to identify trends and insights across schools and student groups.
· - Prepare reports, dashboards, and counselling feedback summaries for management and partner institutions.
· - Ensure timely and accurate submission of counselling records and MIS reports.
· - Maintain confidentiality and integrity of all student and institutional data.
5. Program Development & Innovation
· - Provide strategic inputs for improving test tools, report formats, and digital counselling platforms.
· - Contribute to the design of new products, workshops, and outreach campaigns.
· - Collaborate with technical and operations teams to streamline processes and enhance service delivery.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Psychology, Counselling, Education, or Career Guidance (mandatory).
- Certification in Psychometric Testing or Career Counselling preferred.
Experience
- 1-2 years of experience in educational or career counselling, student guidance, or psychology-based consulting.
- Proven experience in handling large-scale school counselling programs.
- Prior experience managing teams of counsellors or interns preferred.
Languages
- Mandatory: English, Kannada, and Hindi .
- Added Advantage: Additional Indian languages (Telugu, Tamil, Marathi, etc.) for wider outreach.
Skills & Competencies
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
- Deep understanding of student behaviour, academic stress, and career planning.
- Strong analytical and reporting skills (Excel, PowerPoint, CRM tools).
- Ability to train, lead, and motivate a diverse team of counsellors and interns.
- Empathy, patience, and professionalism in all interactions.
- Willingness to travel extensively for school visits and training programs.
