Program, set up, and operate CNC router/boring machines to cut, drill, and shape wood, MDF, plywood, HPL, and WPC panels for modular furniture, doors, and interior components. Accuracy and zero crashes are the goal.
Key Responsibilities
1. Machine Setup & Operation
- Load CNC programs from CAD/CAM software like Aspire, Alphacam, WoodWOP, Mastercam
- Set origin, tool offsets, vacuum suction, and material alignment
- Select correct tools, feeds, and speeds for wood, MDF, WPC, acrylic to avoid burning/chipping
- Run test cuts and first article inspection
2. Programming & Reading Drawings
- Read technical drawings, cutting lists, and DXF files
- Do basic nesting to maximize sheet usage and minimize waste
- Make minor program edits for drilling, pocketing, grooving, and profiling
3. Quality Control
- Check finished parts for dimensional accuracy ±0.2mm
- Inspect for tear-out, fuzz, burn marks, and tool marks
- Ensure hole positions match hardware like hinges, drawer channels, KD fittings
4. Maintenance & Safety
- Daily cleaning of bed, dust extraction, and lubrication
- Tool change, tool length measurement, and collet checks
- Follow safety protocols: no loose clothes, use dust mask, emergency stop awareness
- Report spindle issues, vacuum loss, or servo alarms immediately
5. Production Support
- Coordinate with beam saw and edge band teams for smooth workflow
- Label parts and keep area organized per 5S
- Log machine runtime, tool usage, and material consumed
Required Skills & Qualities
- Technical: 1-3 years experience on wood CNC routers. Point-to-point or nesting machines
- Software: Basic G-code knowledge + CAD/CAM software experience
- Precision Mindset: Attention to detail. One wrong offset can ruin a whole sheet
- Problem Solving: Can troubleshoot tool breakage, vacuum issues, program errors
- Math & Measurement: Comfortable with dimensions, angles, coordinates
- Physical: Lift 25kg panels, stand for full shift, work in dust/noise
Nice to Have
- Experience with Biesse, Homag, SCM, Jai, Omnitech CNCs
- Knowledge of hardware boring patterns for Blum, Hettich, Hafele
- Ability to do nesting optimization to save 5-8% material
